Irish Basketball Coach Daniel Nelson is making a name for himself in Australia. In July Daniel signed with the Perth Wildcats as a Development Assistant Coach. The Perth Wildcats are a professional men's team competing in the National Basketball League, The wildcats are the most successful team in the NBL having achieved five championships and have currently appeared in the finals for 25 straight seasons (an accomplishment matched by no other NBL club).

Daniel has also just signed with the Cockburn Cougars women's state league team as their new Head Coach for the 2012 season.
