Primary Schools Mini Basketball Update

Primary Schools Mini Basketball Update

  • Mar 10,2016
Primary Schools Mini Basketball National Committee ran two very successful courses on teaching mini basketball in the Primary Schools in St Patrick's College of Education Dublin recently for 2nd and 3rd year B.Ed students. Thanks to Basketball Ireland Coaching Tutor Martin McGettrick for delivering a very thorough and instructive course.
PSMNC would like to express our gratitude to Dr Frances Murphy of St Pat's on providing us with the opportunity to engage with the teachers of the future. Plans are being put in place to offer a similar course in Mary Immaculate College Limerick.

Castlebar Primary teachers had an opportunity to attend a workshop on mini basketball on March 8th in Davitt College. The Mayo Local Sports Partnership, represented by Charlie Lambert, organised the logistics of the course which was delivered by Basketball Ireland coaching tutor Vincent O'Keeffe. Galway Regional Development Officer for Basketball Ireland Mike Murray was also in attendance  to lend support. The Castlebar teachers have decided to run a 3on3 Primary Schools Mini Blitz after Easter, with Mike's assistance, so look out for details if you are in the Mayo area or on the Primary Schools Mini Basketball Website www.primaryschoolsminibasketballireland.com
