Ireland U16 Men's Euro Squad Confirmed
April 05, 2016
Ireland U16 Menâs Coach Nabil Murad has named his final squad of 12 players who will compete in Division B at the FIBA U16 European Championship 2016.
Players from all four provinces have made the cut to be on the plane to Sofia in August with two of the squad bringing their experience from the 2015 Championships. David Murray ranked in the top ten players of the tournament for field goal accuracy with a 50.9% return in two-point range and grabbed 14 points in a playoff win over Luxembourg. His Ireland and Neptune teammate Cian Heaphy meanwhile had career highs in the wins over both Scotland and Norway. Neptune are also represented in the squad by Scott Hannigan and Darragh OâSullivan while James Beckom is also named.
Max Amadasun and Kris Arcilla were central to Colaiste Phádraigh Lucanâs first ever Subway All-Ireland School Cup title in 2016 and are named alongside fellow Dubliner Eoin McCann.
Matthew Rooney of Queenâs and OLSPK is Ulsterâs sole representative with Connachtâs players coming from Galway and Sligo - Moycullen duo Mark Convery and Paul Kelly make the trip with Jack Moran coming from Sligo All Stars.
