Dublin U14 Boys Bound For Europe

  • Apr 21,2016
Some of Dublin’s finest emerging talent will get a chance to test themselves against the best of Europe in an upcoming tournament in Belgium.

Coach Carmel Kilmartin will once again bring a squad of twelve U14 boys to compete in the International Tournament of Wanze from May 4th to May 8th.

It is Kilmartin’s 16th trip as mentor and in that time Dublin sides have reached the semi-finals on four occasions and the final on three occasions including a tournament win in 2014.

Carmel is assisted by Eddie Guimartin and Ger O’Leary as Coaches and Mary Guilmartin as manager.

The 12 players and two reserves were picked from recent trials and will be taking on their equivalents from France, The Netherlands and Belgium.

Six of the side involved in the 2014 win went to help Templeogue to U16 victory at the All-Ireland Club Championships in 2016.

“This is my 16th year coaching this select team,” said Kilmartin. “It’s a great opportunity for players to compete at international level at such a young age.”
