Ireland U16 Men's Squad Update
August 11, 2016
Irelandâs U16 Men begin their FIBA European Championship Campaign in Bulgaria today, happy to put an unfortunate run of injuries behind them.
The squad travelled to Sofia with only 11 players after James Lyons underwent surgery for a leg injury sustained on Sunday. The Moycullen teen was a late call up to the squad alongside Robert Cahill, following injuries to Eoin McCann and Mathew Rooney at the Dussmann Trophy warm-up tournament in Luxembourg.
Cahill comes into the squad on the back of a strong season with Blue Demons.
Tip Off against England at the Triaditza Hall is at 11:45 Irish time. The venue is a happy hunting ground for Ireland teams in recent years following the U16 Menâs victory over Norway there in 2015.
