  • Dec 01,2016

41 finals of the Dublin Primary Schools Mini-Basketball League takes place in the National Basketball Arena from December 1st to 9th – a 20% increase on the number of teams since last year.

Over the last few months, 82 school teams were clustered in groups of no more than five schools and played each other once. The Dublin Primary Schools Mini-Basketball Board then paired 1s, 2s, 3s etc. for Finals in the National Basketball Arena which will take place over the coming week.

In total, over 800 children will take part in the finals while a further 136 children will be officiating on the tables.

All children participate in at least one quarter with no child playing more than two quarters and all children are awarded a League participation medal and the winning schools are presented with a trophy.

Over 1,500 supporters are expected to enjoy the occasion – with many visiting the Arena for the first time.
