Basketball Ireland Men’s Super League: 

Maree drove home to their first win of the season on Saturday evening, and did so in thrilling fashion, winning out 102-100 against DCU Saints in Oranmore. 

A huge game from Ireland Under 20 star, Eoin Rockall, saw him bag a whopping 36 points for the Galway side to see them on their road to victory, despite some top scoring from Vincent's, including 37 from Dee Proby and 28 points from Graham Brannelly. 


Over at Oblate Hall meanwhile, Black Amber Templeogue launched a major comeback to take an 86-82 point win over Moycullen. Brilliant scoring from Neil Randolph down the stretch tied the game level at 80 apiece, and a huge three pointer from Jason Killeen, along with fantastic scores from Mike Bonaparte was enough to see Templeogue home to glory. 


Griffith College Swords Thunder got back to winning ways in the ALSAA meanwhile, as they overpowered Garvey's Tralee Warriors in the second half to take home an 88-59 point victory in the end. Top scoring from Charlie Coombes and Isaac Westbrooks was coupled with strong displays from Alex Dolenko and Conroy Baltimore to see Swords home to victory despite the best efforts of Trae Pemberton and Kieran Donaghy. 



Elsewhere, Mike Garrow and Conor Meany led UCD Marian home to a 73-61 point win over Belfast Star, while Éanna had too much for KUBS, running out 110-74 point winners. 

Pyrobel Killester travelled to Cork on Sunday afternoon for a big clash against UCC Demons and came out with a 104-95 point win, thanks to top scoring from Royce Williams and Rodrigo García Ruiz

Basketball Ireland Women’s Super League: 

There were two games in the Women's Super League on Saturday evening, with Courtyard Liffey Celtics keeping their unbeaten streak in the league intact with a 76-62 point win over Maxol WIT Wildcats at home in Leixilp. 

Top scoring from Jazmen Boone along with good performances from Devon Brookshire and Sorcha Tiernan saw Liffey Celtics home to glory. 

Elsewhere, Pyrobel Killester recorded their fourth consecutive win when they overcame NUIG Mystics 61-67 down in Galway. 



Portlaoise Panthers finally got their season off the mark on Sunday and did so in style, winning out by 20 points in their battle of the midlands with IT Carlow Basketball.




A superb display from Portlaoise Panthers Stephanie Schmid saw her shoot the lights out with an impressive 34 points, while Meave Phelan and Stephaine Poland put in solid performances to ensure Portlaoise Panthers' first win of the season.

LYIT Donegal got back to winning ways this week, with a high scoring 95-83 point win over LIT Celtics. Top scoring from Chaz Watler (32 points) saw him outscore Matt St Amour on the day, and Niall McDermott was happy to secure a win. 


Elsewhere, Ballincollig had the better of Scotts Lakers St Paul's Killarney, while Keane's SuperValu Killorglin kept their unbeaten run intact with a big win over Portlaoise Panthers at home. Paris Texas Kilkenny didn't have luck on their side this weekend as they fell just short of the mark to IT Carlow Basketball and Keane’s Supervalu Killorglin. 

University Ulster Elks ran out winners over EJ Sligo All Stars on Sunday afternoon, while Titans hosted Dublin Lions and triumphed with a 104-91 point victory.

In the Women's Division One meanwhile, Griffith College Swords Thunder laid down a firm statement of things to come as they ran out 10-point winners over Meteors on Saturday afternoon. 


Elsewhere, Niamh Dwyer was the hero of the hour for Fr Mathews as she bagged a game-winning three pointer with just seconds to go on the clock to see the Cork team home to a one-point victory over UL Huskies. 

Ulster University Elks hosted Marble City Hawks with just two points separating the teams at half time, it was Kelly O'Hallahan's high scoring that resulted in Marble City Hawks' second win of the weekend.

Marble City Hawks have advanced to the semi-final of the Champions Trophy after a 44-60 point win over Fabplus North West on the road on Saturday evening. Top scoring from Kelly O'Hallahan ensured victory for the Kilkenny team who will now meet Fr Mathews in the next round.
