Basketball Ireland Men’s Super League:

In the Men’s Super League, Garvey’s Tralee Warriors overcame Pyrobel Killester in an 84-72 point win in front of a packed home crowd on Saturday night, keeping their spot around the top of the table firmly secure for another week.

Trae Pemberton shot the lights out as he netted an impressive 38 points and put in an absolutely stunning performance on both sides of the court. Despite a third quarter run from Killester it wasn’t enough as Tralee’s early lead in the first half, teamed with a fantastic finishing performance from Kieran Donaghy and Darren O’Sullivan saw them come out on top.

DCU Saints blew the league wide open meanwhile as they took a 71-70 point win over UCD Marian in a cracking Dublin derby. A fourth quarter thriller sent the game into a frenzy as Mike Garrow found the net from the free throw line with 14 seconds to go to tie it all up 69 apiece. In a nail-biting finish a foul on Dee Proby in the final 10 seconds sent him to the line where he sunk both shots to run DCU Saints out winners.

Elsewhere, Black Amber Templeogue got the better of KUBS while Belfast Star welcomed Eanna BC up north and ran out 71-62 point winners. A third quarter comeback by UCC Demons saw them overcome Moycullen 72-85 in NUIG Galway Saturday evening, but UCD Marian got back to winning ways on Sunday, overcoming UCC Demons in Cork, 78-95.
