Padraig McLoughlin
Padraig McLoughlin is CEO of a distribution company and a qualified Chartered Director. He has been associated with St. Vincent’s Basketball Club all of his life and has coached at National League level for both St. Vincent’s and Meteors Basketball Clubs. In the last few years, he has coached underage with Tolka Rovers Basketball Club and is currently back coaching underage with St. Vincent’s.
Tim Murphy
Tim Murphy is Chief Operating Officer of DMS Governance Ltd. (DMS), and provides leadership support to the firm’s CEO and President in promoting innovation, quality service and cost-effective management of resources. Prior to joining DMS, Mr. Murphy served as Associate Partner, Novitas Partners LLP, Ireland a Corporate Advisory firm, where he was responsible for opening its Irish office and, among other roles, provided business development and product strategy advice and execution services for SME businesses in Ireland, Europe and the U.S.
A former Managing Director of the Bank of New York Mellon (London and Ireland), Mr. Murphy served the bank in various roles from 1998 to 2012, including as CEO of BNY Mellon Clearing Ireland Limited and Head of Derivatives Clearing EMEA; Chief Operating Officer for Alternatives Investment Services Europe and Asia Pacific Division; Global Head of Alternative Investment Services Product and Head of European Fund Services Products, for both London and Dublin, and Chief Operating Officer of AIB/BNY Fund Management (Ireland) Limited.
He also serves as a Non-Executive Director of NBC Global Finance Limited, a subsidiary of National Bank of Canada.
Prior banking experience include serving as Director of Fund Administration, Investors Fund Services with Investors Bank & Trust (Boston and Dublin).
He began his career as Information Systems Auditor and Senior Auditor with Ernst & Young (Boston).
Tim graduated magna cum laude from Merrimack College, Massachusetts with a BSBA in Accounting. He was a certified Public Accountant in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Ken McIntyre
Ken McIntyre has been a director of J B Barry & Partners, one of Ireland’s leading consulting engineering practices, for over 20 years. He has been involved in the delivery of major infrastructure projects in Ireland and has also provided technical and institutional support to local administration on projects in Eastern Europe and the Middle East. He is a Fellow of the Irish Academy of Engineering, a Fellow of Engineers Ireland, a Fellow of the Association of Consulting Engineers and a Fellow and Past Chair (Republic of Ireland) of the Chartered Institution of Water & Environmental Management.
In his playing career, Ken was a founding member of Marian (now UCD Marian) Basketball Club with whom he won two national championships. He was an underage international at u15, u18 and u20 level and a senior international from 1970 to ‘79.
Ken also played basketball in Sligo and over the years has been involved in both coaching and administration.
Sinéad Gordon
Sinéad Gordon is an experienced project manager, with a proven track record in delivering international world-class competitions and events. She is currently working as the Operations Manager for the Sport Ireland Campus, home to world class facilities for Team Ireland's elite athletes including the National Indoor Arena & Covered Pitches, National Gymnastics Training Centre and National Aquatics Centre to name a few. Previous to this role, she worked as the Event Director for the Allianz Para Swimming European Championships, an event that was awarded Sporting Event of the Year via the 2019 Irish Sport Industry Awards.
Sinéad has always had a passion for basketball, which started when playing for St. Nathy’s College Ballaghaderreen (and is a proud Mayo supporter), with this passion becoming a career path when she joined Basketball Ireland (BI) over a decade ago as Competitions Director. Since leaving BI, she has also worked as the Head of Basketball Operations with GB Basketball and at the highest level of the sport with the International Basketball Federation, FIBA, based in Munich. She most recently qualified as one of the first Irish FIBA Technical Delegates which will allow her to oversee European and World qualifiers as a FIBA representative.
She departed Ireland in 2010 to take up a role that she describes as one of the best jobs she has ever worked, organising the London 2012 basketball and wheelchair basketball events and despite basketball introducing her to most countries in Europe and beyond she is relishing being back on home soil and enjoying playing a part in the progression of the sport in Ireland. She has a particular interest in the area of governance and is currently completing a MSc in Sport Management in UCD, focusing on the governance of elite sport.
Charles Higgins
Charles is an enthusiastic active coach at club and county level. He is the current Chair of the Clare Area Basketball Board and their representative on the National Area Boards Committee. Charles has both National and International experience in contract and claims negotiation. He is a seasoned professional and adept in working with cross functional teams. He is a business owner and is proactive in working with volunteer organisations. Charles believes that basketball is a way for kids and adults alike to be part of something that can make them both a team player and an independent thinker.
Paul McDevitt
Paul McDevitt, FCCA Registered Auditor & Accountant, has been a partner in McDevitt & McGlynn since 1992. Paul has extensive experience in dealing with SME’s and Not For Profit Organisations advising them on taxation, financial, corporate governance and auditing matters. Treasurer of both the NWAB and the NABC, Paul is also a member of Council, representing the NABC. He is also a member of joint council and board sub committee, reviewing the current corporate structure of Basketball Ireland and is actively involved in coaching at both club and Area Board level.
Emer Howard
A graduate of Unilever, Emer is now a marketing and strategy consultant, having worked her way up to Executive Director and Chief Strategy Officer roles in London and Dublin’s top Advertising Agencies.
In her playing career, Emer played international basketball for Ireland at all levels as well as in the top flight of the NCAA college basketball in the USA where she captained her team for two of her four years, before playing professionally in England’s Premier Division until injury got in the way.
Emer was assistant coach on the Ireland U20 women at the 2017 FIBA European Championships and is an underage coach with the newly amalgamated Drogheda Wolves basketball club.
