Two New Directors for Basketball Ireland Board

Basketball Ireland announce that following the recent call for nominations for the position of Directors of Basketball Ireland, two candidates were nominated for the two vacancies which will become available at the upcoming AGM on June 11, 2016.
Accordingly Grace OâSullivan and Aaron OâConnell will be ratified at the AGM as new directors.
Grace has been involved in basketball at all levels for 35 years. She has been involved in coaching, team management and administration at club, school, regional and International level.
She is currently manager of Ireland Senior Womenâs programme due to return to International competition at the FIBA European Championship For Small Countries in Gibraltar this summer.
She works as a School Principal in Cork City.
Aaron has been involved in basketball for the past 42 years and is passionate about the sport and the development of the game in Ireland. He played with GH74, CG All-Stars, North Mon, Blue Demons, Neptune, Fr Mathews, Scoil Mhuire Gan SmÃ¡l Blarney, Gael Cholaiste Mhuire AG, UCC, Brunell, Cobh, Carraig na bhFear and Meteors.
He is currently assistant coach to UCD Marian Super-League team. He is a member of the BI Coaches Committee and has served in an administrative capacity on the Cork Menâs and Ladies Boards, the Cork Post Primary School Girlâs Committee, in addition to various positions at club level.
On a professional note, Aaron is a successful businessman and experienced entrepreneur. From 2010-15 he was Irelandâs representative on the EU Working Group, charged with the drafting of new safety standards for the window blind industry. He is the NSAI expert on window blind safety and was chairperson of the NSAI Committee that drafted a Code of Good Practice for the industry.
