Basketball Ireland announces appointment of new Commercial Manager
Basketball Ireland has today announced the appointment of Conor Meany as our new Commercial Manager.
Conor brings significant experience to the role, not only from his most recent employment with Cartrawler where he oversaw content marketing, social media and P.R. management, but also from his time with Olytico where he worked with, and managed, a wide range of corporate clients.
A social media expert, Conor has built up a strong network of contacts throughout the country, both inside and outside the sporting community, which will undoubtedly aid him in this new role.
Conor, who is also well known for his basketball prowess with Men’s Super League team UCD Marian, holds both a BSc and MSc in Sports and Exercise Management. While still playing at a high level himself, it is not only on the court where he has shown a strong skillset, but he has also been active off the court over the past 10 years to help the development of the game of basketball and works hard behind the scenes for UCD Marian.
Speaking about the appointment, Secretary General of Basketball Ireland, Bernard O’Byrne stated: "As Basketball Ireland prepares to host the FIBA Under 18 Women’s European Championships Division B in Dublin this August, Conor’s first project will be to help us present the great attraction of basketball to a wider corporate community. He came through a tough interview schedule against several very strong candidates and we are delighted to have secured his professional services. It is an added bonus that basketball flows through his veins."
Conor begins his position in early May, and will be contactable on: firstname.lastname@example.org
