Killester Basketball Club celebrating 50th anniversary

Killester Basketball Club celebrates its 50th Anniversary on Friday May 5th 2017 with a mammoth Black and Gold Ball at Clontarf Castle.
Many of the heroes of days gone by - including Kelvin Troy - will be strutting their stuff at the re-furbished Clontarf Castle as will some of the club's early coaches including Fr Eamon McCarthy and Martin Grennell. The action gets underway at 7pm with a drinks reception, followed by a three course meal at 8pm.
Club founder Michael Casey will be there to tell all in attendance how his dreamfor a basketball club in 1967 has now become one of the biggest and most successful in the country with over 40 teams - including Super League men and women, a thriving Development section, a Special Olympics Club and a Wheelchair Basketball group that includes the recently elected President of Paralympics Ireland John Fulham.
Also in attendance will be club sponsor Michael McCormack of Pyrobel Glass / Carlen Glass and Cormac Farrell, Marketing Manager of O'Neill's Choice of Champions who supplied the club's first uniforms in 1967 and have been their club uniform sponsors since 1985.
There will also be video greetings from 25 former players from all over the world on the big screen, while "Big Love" will provide the musical entertainment for all in attendance from 10pm.
