Reardens of Cork come on board as official partner of FIBA Women’s European Championship for Small Countries
Reardens in Cork have today been announced as an official partner of the FIBA Women’s European Championship for Small Countries.
The partnership will see a special evening with Ireland Senior men’s and women’s team coaches, Pete Strickland and Mark Scannell alongside players from each of the squads, take part in a special Q&A session at the Cork venue on Thursday, June 21st from 8.30pm. The event will be presented by Sports Editor of The Evening Echo, John McHale and will allow fans an insight into the preparation and planning for the two squads as they each prepare for tough European challenges in the coming weeks.
Speaking about the partnership announcement, General Manager of Reardens, Michael O’Sullivan stated: “We are proud to be a partner for the 2018 FIBA Women’s European Championship for Small Countries for this exciting event. Basketball is an ever-growing sport in Ireland and has always had a keen following in Cork City. Reardens has a strong history in supporting teams in various sports and we are thrilled to strengthen our relationship with the basketball community. We are on countdown now to the first tip off on June 26th, and it’s fantastic to see such great support being shown by the local community. We have no doubt that the Q&A session with both squads pre-tournament will be a must-see for basketball fans across the country.”
The FIBA Women’s European Championships for Small Countries will be held at the Mardyke Arena UCC from June 26th to July 1st, and will see the Ireland senior women’s team competing for top honours against seven other countries from around Europe.
