CPSU invites applications for Provincial & Regional Head Coaches

The CPSU (Coaching and Playing Standards Unit) at Basketball Ireland is seeking candidates to fill the positions of Provincial and Regional Head Coaches in the new Provincial and Regional Academies.
Regional Head Coaches
The Regional Head Coaches will be responsible for the set up and management of the seven Regional Academies, tasked with the delivery of 50 hours of development to selected Under 14 players.
There will be both boys and girls training in seven regions nationwide.
Cork, Kerry, Limerick and North Tipperary
Antrim, Armagh, Derry, Down, Fermanagh, Tyrone, Meath, Louth, Cavan and Monaghan
Dublin, Wicklow, Kildare
Waterford, Wexford, Kilkenny, Carlow and South Tipperary
Donegal, Mayo and Sligo
Laois, Offaly, Westmeath, Roscommon, Longford and Leitrim
Clare and Galway
Provincial Head Coaches
The Provincial Head Coaches will be responsible for the set up and management of one of four provincial Academies, tasked with the delivery of 50 hours of development to selected Under 15 players. There will be both boys and girls training in four Provincial Academies representing Leinster, Ulster, Connacht and Munster.
Successful candidates will work under the guidance of the National Head Coaches of the Academies as they deliver a standardised curriculum, laying the cornerstone of a national style of play.
The roles will involve the development of both players and coaches as they progress along the performance pathway. A full role specification will be made available to all candidates on application.
Regional and Provincial Head Coaches will receive an honorarium for their participation in the Academies.
The following qualifications and experience are desirable:
Candidates should have a minimum of three years coaching in a regional/national and/or international setting. Experience in player development is advantageous.
Candidates should have experience teaching and/or mentoring coaches either formally or informally.
Candidates should have a minimum of a Level 1 Coaching Certificate. Candidates will be required to demonstrate evidence of frequent engagement in formal and informal development activities.
Candidates must be a registered technical member of Basketball Ireland.
Candidates must be Garda vetted with Basketball Ireland or with Access Northern Ireland within the last five years.
Candidates must be available from the 31st of August to the 2nd of September inclusive to participate in a weekend of CPD and planning for all Academy staff.
