Skills Programme Week Ten: Full-body workout
June 15, 2020
This week, Basketball Ireland is calling on the Basketball community to capture themselves carrying out this week’s video which is a Full-body home workout.pdf with Pete Madsen.
As many of you may have seen already, every Monday Basketball Ireland are posting workouts and skill challenges that can be done at home on the Basketball Ireland website and social media channels. Basketball Ireland are calling on players throughout Ireland to capture videos of themselves performing these skills and to send them to your own clubs to share.
We encourage clubs to share as many of these videos as possible on their social media platforms with the hashtag #BISkillsComp. To enter the club must follow the criteria below:
Post the video of the athlete completing the skill to their club Instagram or Twitter account.
The post must include the name of your club, the first name only of the athlete, the athlete’s team, and the hashtag #BISkillsComp
Example of entry: Laura from the U16 Portlaoise Panthers team performing the #BISkillsComp.
One video will randomly be selected, and the winner will receive the following: one match ball and Basketball Ireland backpack for themselves as well as five match balls, two sets of five Kappa Bibs and 6 Green shoot manuals for their club.
Check out this week's skills video with Pete below:
All entries must be submitted before Monday the 29th of June and the winners will be announced on Monday 6th of July.
All those taking part are reminded to adhere to the HSE guidelines on social distancing. These challenges are for young players to try in their own home/place of residence.
All skills videos can be found on the Basketball Ireland YouTube Channel

Head of Development at Basketball Ireland, Ciaran O’Sullivan said: “During this time with a lot of people having to remain at home it is still important to remain active. Over the next few weeks we will be rolling out our skills programme that can be completed at home and is ideal for those who might have never tried basketball before or for someone trying to keep their skills sharp when regular basketball is not possible. We hope that everyone will get involved and send us in your clips from home!”
