Basketball Ireland Return to Play group meets
July 22, 2020
Basketball Ireland’s Return to Play group is urging the basketball community to be mindful of the changes to the government roadmap, which has seen phase 4 delayed until August 10th.
The latest Basketball Ireland Return to Play Road Map.pdf is available, while guidelines on returning to play can be found in the Return to Sport Covid Safety Statement.pdf, including updated government advice on the pause in phase 4, which is on page 9. The roadmap and return to play guidelines can also be accessed on Basketball Ireland’s dedicated Covid-19 page, which has a range of resources for clubs, including posters and training courses.
Charles Higgins, Chair of the Return to Play group, said: “I would like to thank everyone involved in basketball - staff, coaches, players and volunteers - for their consistent work in getting basketball up and running again in a safe manner. We remain in phase 3 of the government roadmap until August 10th and must continue to adhere to the guidelines outlined, to ensure a safe environment for all participants in the game.”
“The Return to Play group is continuously monitoring the latest government advice and will update the basketball community with any changes.”
