November 25, 2020
Basketball Ireland is pleased to announce the appointment of Erin Bracken as the Aspire Graduate. The ASPIRE Graduate Employment Programme is set up to enable recently qualified sport and physical activity graduates to gain relevant experience in sector-based organisations.
Erin is well known around the game and comes to us with a wealth of basketball knowledge. In addition, Erin graduated from UUJ in 2019 with a MSc in Sports Coaching and Performance as well as having completed her undergraduate studies in Sport Science in IT Tallaght. Erin has been an assistant coach with the U18 and U20 Women’s Irish team in 2016 and 2019 respectively and is also involved in coaching various underage teams with Liffey Celtics and Dublin Lions.
Speaking about the appointment, CEO of Basketball Ireland, Bernard O’Byrne, said: “We are delighted to welcome Erin on board and have no doubt her experience to date and her studies will stand to her in this Aspire Graduate Role. We are delighted to have received the funding from Sport Ireland and the Dormant fund account to give Erin an opportunity to kick start her career in the sports industry. The graduate programme is hugely beneficial to NGB's and indeed the graduates."
Erin will begin the graduate programme on 8th December.
This project was approved by the Government with support from the Dormant Accounts Fund.
