700 euro Covid-19 grant available to registered clubs
January 28, 2021
Clubs are reminded that a €700 euro grant is available to Basketball Ireland registered clubs in the Republic of Ireland to help deal with the impact of Covid-19. The funding, made available through Sport Ireland, is to specifically to defray costs that clubs have incurred directly due to the pandemic, such as providing sanitisers, temperature checks and additional equipment to reduce the transfer of equipment. The grant is also available to offset losses in income, such as decreased sponsorship, or loss of fundraising opportunities.
The grant is only available to clubs that haven’t previously received money from the Sports Resilience Fund. Clubs must also have paid their club registration fee of €150 euro for the 2020/21 season in order to be eligible. Once the claim form is processed, funds will be issued immediately to eligible clubs.
Bernard O’Byrne CEO, Bernard O’Byrne, said “I know this is a strange time for clubs, not being able to be on the court and with no date for our return currently set. However, in the meantime we would encourage clubs to avail of this funding provided by Sport Ireland. The form doesn’t take long to complete and the money will help clubs during this difficult time.”
Those wishing to claim must do so by filling out the following form: Basketball Ireland Club Resilience Grant Claim Form. The deadline to submit your grant claim is February 26th.
