Deadline for clubs to claim 700 euro Covid-19 grant extended
February 17, 2021
The deadline for clubs to claim a €700 grant to help deal with the impact of Covid-19 has been extended to March 17th.
The grant is available to Basketball Ireland registered clubs in the Republic of Ireland. The funding, made available through Sport Ireland, is to specifically to defray costs that clubs have incurred directly due to the pandemic, such as providing sanitisers, temperature checks and additional equipment to reduce the transfer of equipment. The grant is also available to offset losses in income, such as decreased sponsorship, or loss of fundraising opportunities.
The grant is only available to clubs that haven’t previously received money from the Sports Resilience Fund. Clubs must also have paid their club registration fee of €150 euro for the 2020/21 season in order to be eligible. Once the online form is processed, funds will be issued immediately to eligible clubs.
Bernard O’Byrne CEO, Bernard O’Byrne, said: “We’ve made the process as simple as possible for clubs, with a form that only takes a few minutes to complete. We’ve extended the deadline for clubs to submit their claim, as we are keen for every eligible club to avail of this funding, which has been generously provided by Sport Ireland.”
Those wishing to claim must do so by filling out the following form: Basketball Ireland Club Resilience Grant Claim Form.
