Basketball Ireland launch Youth Ambassador Programme
April 07, 2021
Basketball Ireland is launching a new Youth Ambassador Programme that will run for the remainder of 2021.
The aim of the programme is for the young ambassadors to encourage their peers to return to basketball, as the sport reopens in the coming months. Utilising their social networks, the ambassadors will promote all that basketball has to offer and showcase to their friends why they should get back on the court and encourage others to take up the sport.
The programme is open to registered members of Basketball Ireland, who are 13-17 years of age. Players who played schools basketball, but are not yet part of a club, are also eligible.
Participants will receive social media training from an expert youth media agency Pluto (https://www.pluto.ie/) that will show the participants best practice and how to create top class content on TikTok, Snapchat and Instagram. The course will be held over one day in May and will be delivered online.
Basketball Ireland will also provide a basketball pack and a certificate of participation for each participant.
If you would like to be considered for the Young Ambassador Programme, please email firstname.lastname@example.org using the subject title 'Young Ambassador Programme', with the following details:
- Current club/school
- 250 words on why you would be a good candidate for the programme
Closing date for applications is on Friday April 16th at 5pm. All participants must have parental permission to take part in the programme.
