Basketball Ireland announces 'Reboot and Rebound 2021'
April 27, 2021
Basketball Ireland is relaunching the sport, following a lengthy Covid-19 enforced absence. We are determined to hit the ground running to help players and clubs at all levels get back in action, as well as our schools, colleges, officials and volunteers re-engage with the sport. As part of this, Basketball Ireland is delighted to announce ‘Reboot and Rebound 2021’. It is a series of initiatives that will help reignite our sport, including a 3x3 Summer Tour, Club Support Packs which include free basketballs, Player Registration Credits, Youth Ambassadors, the recently launched Basketball Ireland’s National 11-week RTP Injury Reduction Programme and much more. Basketball Ireland is monitoring the ongoing Covid-19 situation and each initiative will have a formal launch, when restrictions allow us to do so.
Basketball Ireland CEO, Bernard O’Byrne, said: “We have been working tirelessly in anticipation of the return to basketball. Players and clubs have been able to get back to outdoor activity in the Republic of Ireland since Monday, while in Northern Ireland our basketball community has been on the courts for a number of weeks. Basketball Ireland will have an extensive rollout of activities and supports in place to help everyone get back on the court and reignite our sport.”
