On Friday, Feb 12th, Sat 13th and Sunday 14th, the Galway Titans will be represented at the special KGB invitational International Tournament in Mulhouse in France.
This prestigious tournament invites top clubs from all over Europe including Partizan Belgrade, Real Madrid and Roma Azzurri.
The Titans U13's have a minimum of six games and will open the tournament with three games on the first day against the Pfastatt home town tournament favourites; Macedonian and Belgian opposition - all great teams from famous clubs with wonderful basketball histories.
The Titans represented so well last year, that they received an invitation again this year. They actually beat Pfastatt then, but the home town have been bolstered by an influx of nine players who won an U11 World Championship final against CSKA Moscow. The Galwegians will be up against it. Nevertheless, the lads are still smarting from their memories of last years u15's final between Real Madrid and Roma Stella Azzurri, when they witnessed a put back dunk by a Spanish player over a 7'6 Italian, in front of 5,000 people, with Titans' Matthew Sweeney coming in as runner-up the final of the 3 point shooting competition to the captain of Alva Berlin.
